How Much Do Aligners Cost for Adults?
This is unfortunately a difficult question to answer, as it’s going to be heavily impacted by the total treatment time that you need to correct whatever issues you’re facing. If you only need one year’s worth of treatment, for example, you’ll enjoy a lower price than someone who needed two or more years.
During your initial consultation, Dr. Dressler will be able to get a better idea of exactly what is needed given the unique goals that you’re trying to accomplish. At that point, you’ll have everything you need to know about price locked down BEFORE treatment begins so that you can make the best possible decision regarding your budget.
How Long Is the Treatment Time?
Again, this is something that is going to vary depending on exactly what it is that you’re trying to correct. Some issues will simply require a longer treatment time to guarantee the results that you’re after. Having said that, most people wear aligners for somewhere between 12 and 24 months on average.
Are Aligners Comfortable?
Aligners are comfortable thanks to the fact that they’re only created using a series of comprehensive 3D scans that are taken of your mouth. The measurements taken during your initial consultation are so precise that the aligners essentially act as a “second skin” to your natural teeth – something that you cannot say for traditional braces.
Why Should I Get Clear Aligners as an Adult?
You should get clear aligners as an adult because the types of issues that they’re designed to correct can manifest themselves at literally any age. Even if you had traditional braces as a child, there’s a very good chance that your teeth might get “crowded” or “crooked” again if you weren’t vigilant about wearing your retainer. At that point, clear aligners would be a great way to regain that smile you once had – all in a way that is far more convenient than traditional braces as well.
Is It Possible to Switch From Braces to Clear Aligners?
In certain situations, it is possible to switch from traditional braces to clear aligners – particularly if you’ve already had braces and were unhappy with the result, or if you were only concerned with their aesthetic benefits. If you’re thinking about making a switch, feel free to contact Dressler Orthodontics so that you can discuss things further.
What Are Clear Aligners?
Clear aligners, as their name suggests, are a series of clear plastic “trays” that are fitted comfortably to your existing teeth. Each set is designed specifically for the patient in question and is only created after a series of comprehensive scans are taken of the patient’s mouth. Because of this, clear aligners offer a far more comfortable experience than traditional braces – and a far more discreet one as well.
On the topic of their low profile, clear aligners are literally that – clear. Most patients find that unless they come right out and tell people that they’re wearing them, others are none the wiser!
Are Clear Aligners Right for Me?
The chances are very high that clear aligners are right for you – but as is true with all corrective dental procedures, this isn’t necessarily a 100% guarantee. Clear aligners aren’t necessarily a good fit (no pun intended) for patients who need other types of significant dental work, for example – you’ll have to take care of those issues first.
Dr. Dressler or one of his associates will go over all of this with you during your initial consultation so that you know exactly what to expect moving forward.
How Many Hours a Day Do I Need to Wear My Clear Aligners?
For the absolute best results, you should be prepared to wear your clear aligners for as long as humanly possible – at least 22 hours per day, if not more. The only time that you should ever be taking your aligners out of your mouth is if you’re about to eat or if you’re participating in some type of special event where you don’t want them to appear in a photograph.
At any other time, including while you’re sleeping, they should be comfortable in your mouth where they belong.
What Are the Benefits of Aligners as an Adult?
Maybe the biggest benefit of your decision to get aligners as an adult is the almost instant boost to your self-esteem that you receive. If you’ve been dealing with issues like overcrowded teeth, an underbite, an overbite, or more, you’re probably less hesitant to smile when taking a photograph. You may even feel “bad” about yourself and your “imperfect” smile regularly.
At Dressler Orthodontics, we don’t want to see this happen to you – which is why we always encourage aligners for all of our patients who are ideal candidates.
Not only that, but aligners are a great way to correct certain types of bite and jaw issues – something that can lead to a far higher quality of life across the board.
The Dressler Difference
At Dressler Orthodontics, there are a few things that we value more than your time. We understand that you lead a busy life, but that’s not something that should come at the expense of the orthodontic care you need when you need it the most.
This is a large part of the reason why we offer virtual appointments to all of our patients, which is the type of convenient option that will certainly fit into both your lifestyle and your budget.
Dr. Dressler and his team text with patients regularly, for example, to answer any questions and address any concerns that they might have. Patients can even send selfies and photos of their teeth directly to our team!
